This is a cultivation obtained from the crossbreeding between "Yellow Caturra" and "Mundo Novo". This variety was the first to be developed during the researches carried out during the first half of the 20th century.
As a drink, it has a usually light, soft taste, moderate levels of acidity, a distinct sweetness and medium sharpness. Yellow Catuaí might present caramel and banana notes.
